Education of women is the best way to educate children. Change in
generations and social setup has necessitated that both spouses work and join
professions to earn their livelihood. Women should be provided all possible
facilities for their growth and development. I am happy to see women of Gujrat
growing by leaps and bounds. These views were expressed by Consul General USA
Ms Nina Maria Fite in a discussion with faculty and students on the topic of
“Challenges to Women in Education” at the video conference Hall. She was all
joy in negotiating ideas about the emancipation and empowerment of women. It
was interesting to compare the women of two countries Vis-a-Vis growth and
development of women. In answering a question Ms Nina Maria remarked that the
largest exchange program of the world was going on in Pakistan in terms of
scholarships and scholarly activities. Earlier Dr Mudassar gave a detailed
orientation about the growth and development of the university where students
strength has risen to about 17000.
“It is very salutary that UOG is empowering women by imparting to them
necessary skills and knowledge so as to prepare them for workplace. I have been
pleased to learn that the University Of Gujrat (UOG) hosts 60% of its students
as female students and in the latest admissions 85% female students have been
inducted in the university. I had a very good impression about UOG and I am
happy to witness a thriving, vibrant campus of the UOG. It smacks of its
visionary leadership”, remarked Honourable Consul General of USA Ms Nina Maria
